Often underestimated is the influence that a dream or reverie may have over us; it can enrapture us in a spell, both in slumber and in the waking world.
To control a dream is to wield power. This painting asks: what is controlling your dreams, and where do your dreams lead you?

Inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy this piece is an interpretation of Styx, a swamp filled with those who let anger consume them in life. The souls are naked and filled with rage and sorrow, gurgling because they are unable to speak (Inferno 7:109-126).

Inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy this piece represents the end of the Phlegethon river, which is filled with boiling blood engulfing the souls of those who engaged in violence. The figures portrayed are at the very end of the river clinging to a protruding rock, suggesting their violent deeds are relatively minor compared to those in deeper sections of the river. Still, they are in anguish (Inferno 12:121-126).

This piece leverages contrasting elements and symbolism to reflect how two different souls may experience purgatory. One is seated emotionless on a higher pedestal, nearly avoiding flames which reach up and envelop the foot. The other sits on a lower ridge and is consumed by a great sadness.
