A series devoted to landscape paintings and poetry of the countryside near my home in Lafayette, Louisiana. Many paintings feature Moncus Park.
Phantoms
Each painting in this series was inspired by a specific musical selection. The Phantoms of the musical influence may be vividly evident or subtly sit beneath the surface of each work. Whether direct or subliminal, overt or unobservable, music is a foundation of each painting's construction.
Reveries and Delirium
This series explores the human soul in varying states of consciousness and sanity. This series draws from a variety of inspirations including Dante's Divine Comedy, the works of William Blake, and contemporary folklore.
Innocence and Experience
This project was inspired William Blake's book of poetry and artwork, "Songs of Innocence and of Experience" which showed two contrary states of the human soul: an Innocent state of naivety maturing into an Experienced state that comes from learning as we progress through life.
