“The Haunting Boardwalk” / 2025 / 8x10”

Moncus Park in Lafayette, Louisiana is a vibrant and beautiful park known for its gorgeous and vibrant irises. Seldom does it resemble this foggy morning captured last April. The haze, the absence of color, and the grit all seem so foreign. This image is about contrast, both in the image itself and from what we normally expect from a beautiful park. There is something hauntingly beautiful about the park in this condition. The use of expired film adds miniscule aberrations to the image, further contrasting the manicured gardens. 

Please note: this print embraces the character of vintage film photography and intentionally contains evident film grain and dust marks which are used as an artistic choice to amplify the classical aesthetic of the process. The images shown are scans of the silver gelatin print itself and detail these markings. All prints are made in a single batch and contain identical markings.
